A four-year letterman, Dustin was a four-time First Team All-KCAC Performer and was named KCAC Player of the Year in 2001. He was named First Team Region IV and earned NAIA Honorable Mention the same year. His dominating performance on the diamond led OU to the 1998 KCAC Championship and an appearance in the Great Plains Regional. Herron finished his career with 211 hits in 487 at bats and a .433 batting average. He currently holds the OU baseball record for single season batting average at .578, single season slugging percentage at 1.100, and career slugging percentage with .912. During his time at OU, he hit 44 doubles, seven triples, 31 homeruns, scored 162 runs, had 150 RBI and 60 walks.
